Lorna Henkel, Board President, has been visiting asylum seekers and detainees since 2008. She is a member of the First Reformed Church of Secaucus, PeaceWorks, NJ Pax Christi, and NJ Peace Action.
SunHwan Spriggs, Treasurer. Sun started out as a visitor and office-volunteer and joined the board in 2015. She is a spiritual director and leads Christian contemplative practices.
Yarrow Willman-Cole Yarrow has been a volunteer visitor since 2008 and joined the Board in 2014. She is the mother of a 1 year old and works at the Rutgers Center for Women and Work.
Andrea Wren-Hardin is a social worker currently assisting families displaced by Super Storm Sandy. She became involved with First Friends through her volunteer efforts at Morrow Church in Maplewood.
Nancy Taiani. Nancy has been team leader of St. Peter Claver Parishioners for Peace & Justice since 2002 and also coordinates monthly dinners for the homeless at that church. She is a member of the Archdiocesan Immigration Task Force.
Sister de Montfort Kinchellagh, OP Sister de Montfort is a Dominican Sister of Caldwell, NJ. Sister de has been actively involved for many years in justice work for the Caldwell Dominicans and also in collaboration with the North East Dominican Congregations of Amityville, Blauvelt, Hope, and Sparkill.
Anilu Chadwick is a Staff Attorney at Catholic Charities Community Services. She first became involved with First Friends as a Detention Fellow for Catholic Charities as part of the Access to Justice program.
Ken Boccino. Ken currently serves as Deacon at St. George’s Episcopal Church in Maplewood where his focus is pastoral care, healing ministries and exploring opportunities for parish involvement in “hands-on” outreach activities.
